Research holds the key to delivering continuing sustainable improvements within the NHS. Hosted by Bradford Districts Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and working on behalf of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate CCGs, the West Yorkshire R&D team works closely with partners from academia and the health sector to increase evidence-based innovation and knowledge exchange within clinical and care settings.
Further information about West Yorkshire Research and Development and how you can get involved can be found on their website.
You can also find out more about local research by visiting the National Institute for Health Research’s (NIHR) Clinical Research Network website for Yorkshire and Humber. Examples of NIHR initiatives include:
- Join Dementia Research: Join Dementia Research is a national database that exists to enable people to register their interest in participating in dementia research. People can then be matched to suitable studies that may be of interest to them. Anyone can register their interest to be involved.
- Patient Research Ambassadors: a Patient Research Ambassador is someone who promotes health research from a patient point of view. They could be a patient, service user, carer or lay person who is enthusiastic about health research and is willing to communicate that to other patients, the public and healthcare professionals.
Please feel free to contact the West Yorkshire Research and Development team with any questions you have about research taking place in primary care across West Yorkshire and Harrogate.
