Local people are invited to hear about progress and plans for their health services at a meeting later this month.
NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the organisation responsible for planning and buying local health services is holding its annual general meeting (AGM) on Thursday 28 September.
The CCG will present its annual report and accounts, for 2016/17, which outline its work during its fourth year and show how GPs and healthcare professionals have been working together to plan and buy health care services for local people.
Dr James Thomas, clinical chair, NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven CCG, said: “We know that local people are passionate about the NHS and local health care services so we would encourage as many people as possible to attend our AGM to hear about our progress and plans for the future.
“At the AGM we’ll be reporting back on some of the highlights of our work over the last year. This includes setting out a clear vision for how we will meet some of our key challenges whilst delivering improved health, care and finances over the next five years, all built around the needs of local people.
Alongside this, we will be presenting how, in conjunction with social care and the voluntary sector, we have developed a strategy that will transform mental wellbeing for people living in our area. We will also be talking about the key areas of self-care and prevention and how public responsibility for living long and healthy lives underpins everything we do.
There’s also lots of progress to report on our status as a national integrated care pioneer to deliver new models of care as well as the work we are doing on new enhanced primary care services.”
The AGM will start at 12.30pm and finish at 2.30pm. People who wish to attend can reply by email to email@example.com or call 01274 237569. When booking, please specify if you have any specific communication needs.
Questions about the annual report and accounts will be taken at the meeting or can be submitted in advance when people book their place.
