The NHS Rainbow Badge is a way of showing that we are proud to promote inclusivity for peopel who identify as LGBT+.
Along with other NHS organisations in Bradford district and Craven we are a part of the NHS Rainbow Badge initiative. The NHS Rainbow Badge aims to raise awareness amongst NHS staff of the health inequalities facing LGBT+ people and ensure people feel safe and included when accessing healthcare.
The NHS Rainbow Badge was created by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, in partnership with Evelina London Children’s Hospital. The badge is a special rainbow edition of the NHS logo (known as the ‘lozenge’). Badges are handed to NHS staff who have pledged to reduce inequalities and provide support and signposting to LGBT+ people.
Each year our CCG takes part in the NHS staff survey. The survey measures staff satisfaction within our organisation based on a number of different areas including training, learning and development, appraisals and team work and respect and value at work.
The staff survey results are grouped together under NHS Bradford City CCG and NHS Bradford Districts CCG. This is because many of our staff work across both organisations.
Bradford is small and compact city with great transport links, fantastic food and a variety of shopping and lively nightlife.
The city is on the edge of the Yorkshire countryside with Bronte country and walking and biking trails within easy reach in the Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven area. Bradford is also conveniently located close to the bigger cities of Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield.
Our area offers some unique places to live, whether you prefer its quiet suburbs in the Airedale or Craven area or a city centre location.
We are a multicultural area and boast a wide variety of world cuisine and is officially the curry capital of Britain. There are also lots of markets which attract more than 11 million visitors each year. Bradford is also home to the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television with Britain’s largest cinema screen – the IMAX.
